Description
The Decolonial Walk is a two-hour guided experience that invites participants to explore Rome through a different lens, uncovering overlooked narratives connected to Italy’s colonial history and its lasting cultural and social impact.
Moving beyond traditional historical storytelling, the walk encourages participants to critically reflect on whose stories are remembered, whose are overlooked, and how public spaces, monuments, and collective memory shape our understanding of history and identity.
The tour will begin with a meeting point in front of Teatro Ambra Jovinelli and will be led by Kwanza Musi Dos Santos, a Rome-based activist and founder of QuestaèRoma, an organization dedicated to combating discrimination and promoting inclusion, representation, and social awareness.
Through an engaging and thought-provoking exploration of the city, participants will gain a deeper understanding of Rome's history, its diverse communities, and the ways in which the past continues to influence present-day social dynamics.
